Hi, I've now had a letter for my biopsy on what I've already been told is a bcc, but I'm hoping and praying they are wrong. I've had 2 appointments through as I sought a second opinion privately so one is from the referral made by the private consultant. One is for a biopsy with the dermatologist I saw privately, but through the NHS, and the other appointment is a week later for biopsy with plastic surgeon from NHS referral. Obviously I will need to cancel one asap, but I'm terrified of having the biopsy at all and what the after effects will be, not to mention waiting for the results, but if it does turn out not to be cancer I will be really upset to be left with any kind of scarring from the biopsy. I'm trying to not even think about if they are right it is cancer and holding on to the hope that it isn't. Those of you who have had a nose biopsy on the fleshy area near the tip, was this done by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon and what do you think would give the best result scarring wise? Also, for a 2-3mm bump, how wide and deep do they go? Thank you x

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the skin cancer group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

Unfortunately you won't get a reply from the original poster as they are no longer a member of the online community.

Can I suggest that you join the group, by clicking on the black band at the bottom of the screen, and you can then start your own post asking for people to share their experiences with a BCC on the tip of their nose. Mine was on my chest, so not the experience you're looking for.

If you have any problem joining the group just reply to me and I'll be pleased to help.
