Good evening, I've recently started Imiquimod cream 3 alternate days for two weeks.I have finished the first weeks course and absolutely nothing has happened. Is this normal ? Or do I presume it's not going to work.IIt wasn't the specialists first choice of cream, but there was national shortage of chemo cream.
Hi Dixie and a very warm welcome to our corner of the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I didn't use imiquimod to remove my BCC but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
I've searched the group for previous posts which mention this treatment and found these for you to look through.
I can see that you also posted in the ask a nurse section of the online community and the nurse strongly recommended that you got in touch with your specialist. have you had chance to do this?
While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Hi Dixie's
I was prescribed imiiquimod a few years ago for an area on my nose... it took a good two weeks for me to see any signs of it working... by week three the area area was sore and red so it may take some time... I'd suggest calling your dermatologist if no change after two weeks though
