Hello, my name is Sasha and I am 38.
The first time I was diagnosed with a nodular BCC on my head next to the hairline in December 2023, I had it surgically removed.
The second time I discovered a BCC exactly a year later (in December 2024) also on my head and next to the hairline in a different place, and also had it surgically removed.
Now my stitches are just healing, and I have already found a strange formation on the skin of my body (on my left side). It is new, looks like a small papilloma, but at the same time all my BSS were nodular. And I wonder if I really have a BCC again?
Has anyone had this? What is the reason for this? I am very worried because this trend scares me and I need similar stories to understand that this happens.
Thank you for support
Hi SashaKiev Sorry to read your story. I have had 2 basal cell cancers removed from my face with skin flap and skin graft surgery. My plastic surgeon has told me that once you have a basal cell cancer you are likely to get more, hence I have had two. Mine qere both nodular and the one at the top of my nose under my eye grew rapidly, which apparently is not normal as they are very slow growing. I am paranoid now of any tiny change in my skin. I am 75 years old, not a sun worshipper, holiday in England and always use lots of sun protectiobn, he did tell me that the damage may have been caused from my childhood and has just come out now. Please feel free to ask my anything and I will help if I can. Did you just have the bcc's removed or did you have plastic surgery i.e. skin grafts or skin flaps.
Thank a lot, Harlyn.
My mother had BCC, so I think there is a genetic predisposition in my case. But my mother had her BCC removed 10 years ago and she has already forgotten about it.
About my operations: I am in France, the protocol here is to first do a punch biopsy (cut out the formation with a round scalpel) and if the biopsy shows cancer, they do a repeat excision with the capture of healthy skin.
I really want to feel safe, but I see some strange formation again. It's stress
