I visited my GP after leaving what was a spot and dry skin on my back for so long (I’m actually making myself ill thinking when did it first appear). Could even been last year. I have psoriasis and acne so never thought anything of it.
Anyway she’s put me on a 2WW took photos and sent to dermatology but given it’s Christmas and new year I won’t get any results before new year.
I’m worried so much it’s spread, stopped eating feel sick and imagining things and starting to be paranoid of every dry bit skin or mark on my body. I trying my hardest get in private I don’t care of the cost I just want it removed. Reading online there such a diverse range of opinions. Everything says early diagnosis but nothing actually defines early diagnosis is it months weeks days.
What happens if it has spread has anyone else waited as long as me get it checked out?
Hi Andynye. First thing stop panicking, easily said as I was terrible, but this group helped me to calm down. Has anyone said it may be a SCC or a BCC. I had two removed from my face 2 years ago, one by skin fap surgery and the other skin graft. I think I had the first one 9 months and never took much notice then I thought this isnt right, the other I thought some glasses I bought on line during Covid had rubbed my nose, however that was a bcc. My gp referred me under the 2 week wait, but being in Bupa, I said I would go through them and get it sorted privately. You do become paranoid about every little spot, mark freckle, but you have to learn not to. Here if you need to ask any more questions and you will find lots of people will support you through your journey. Good luck and feel free to message me any time. Happy Christmas. By the way where do you live as weaiting lists do differ in different areas.
Hi Harlyn, my GP suspects it’s SSC. I’m in the North East they are reviewing the images on 27th at the RVI and they said to call on 2nd to get results if they feel can wait that’s a good sign. If asking for further details then not so much. I’m going to try and forget it and focus on other things over Christmas.
