Hope someone can help. i know we have to wait but really worrying. We were at a clinic skin check up for excema, as my husband was putting his shirt on the consultant saw something on his back, and  immediately put things in motion for a biopsy. which he had last week. The size of the scar bears no relation to the size of the lesion . I know they cut a margin but still surprised me. my husband said the consultant had to cauterise veins. The biopsy took approx 40mins. Does all this sound normal as he has had bladder cancer and I have now convinced myself it is cancer. not sure if anyone has had the same experience TIA

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

The length of time that the operation took and the fact that the scar is a lot bigger than the lesion was is, in my experience, perfectly normal. I haven't had a biopsy when a vein needed to be cauterised, so can't comment on that.

How long did the consultant say it would be before the results are back?

Keeping everything crossed for your husband.
