Hi Everyone
I'm new to the forum, and just wanted some advice please. I had Moh's surgery on 17 October; I had a 3cm tumor, and needed a skin graft (from the top of my forehead), and a flap. Apparently called the 'burroughs' procedure. I think it looks as though I've had an impression of the Eiffel Tower stamped from the center of my eyebrows, the middle of my forehead, and a very skinny scar to my hairline. Where I had the graft looks very sore and raised, it's painful to touch. I've been wearing small plasters on my glabella as I'm very self conscious.
I just wondered how long it takes for my skin to calm down. I can't wait to cover the area with cover stick or makeup. I've also been told to wear factor 50 moisturiser. I use CeraVe at the moment but it's factor 25.
Also, I'm itching to go back to the gym. I've been doing gentle exercise at home, but I tried some Pilates and planks, but I thought the top of my head would burst. The pressure was unbelievable.
Sorry, a whole load of questions. I'm very active usually, so resting for such a long period goes against the grain.
Thank you very much.
Hi Cherry Cardiff and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that you've had to have treatment to remove a BCC and it's natural to wonder when your skin might start to return to normal.
When I had a BCC removed it was from my chest and I didn't need a skin graft. Hopefully, other members of the group who have had a BCC and skin graft on their face will be along shortly to share their experiences.
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
