Hi all. I had a SCC removed from the tip of my nose five months ago and a skin graft from my neck to my nose. I’m struggling to disguise my nose with make up. Its like a silicone tip and nothing stays on it. Tried various concealers and foundations even without wearing a mask, it just slides off. Can anyone recommend any make up that will disguise the different colour of my nose and so I can feel a little more confident.
Hi Diva

I found talking to my beautician helpful. My scar covers reasonably well with regular makeup but she was able to help me with techniques to get a better effect.

Hi DivaUK,
I still cover my red nose after over 3 years post graft. Donor site was neck like yours. I use Jane Iredale products, from the states. First, I moisturize. Then I put on yellow concealer https://janeiredale.com/products/corrective-colors-concealer; then foundation https://janeiredale.com/products/glow-time-full-coverage-mineral-bb-cream; then powder https://janeiredale.com/products/purepressed-base-mineral-foundation-spf-20-15, then hydration spray which I make myself.
It does rub off wearing masks or blowing my nose, but otherwise does stay on my nose. Those products have SPF in them which is important to protect the graft. All the best to you. As I remind myself, a scar means WE SURVIVED!!!

It's better without makeup but it's still your choice.
You can use foundation first and then apply contouring. The main thing in makeup is the light, the brighter it is, the better the imperfections are visible. I have https://amirobeauty.com/products/amiro-oath-makeup-lighted-mirror specifically for this. Without a mirror, it's hard to find a spot at home where the light will fall evenly on the face. If the light allows you to see the imperfections, you can easily apply makeup. It is not necessary to have experience in this, the main thing is to know the brands of cosmetics that can be used for masking and toning the face skin tone.
