The team at Basingstoke are amazing and should put you both at your ease. It's doubly difficult at the moment when most of the contact is through calls rather than in-person. It's understandable that he's anxious (we all were!). I would suggest that the average stay is between 2 and 3 weeks in hospital but that will all be explained on the call.

Hi Angela ,thanks for the reply and information . Yes it is all difficult with everything being by phone calls and not knowing if I can visit etc. Think we will both feel better after the call tomorrow x

I understand from speaking with the team that visitors are allowed. The clinical nurse specialist will be able to tell you all the details and also the availability of accommodation locally (the nearest hotel is currently closed) xx

It will be fine.  I went to Christie’s on Friday 1tg September 2020 and am being discharged 

So pleased to hear that you are home having had your operation . Having spoke to the consultant at Basingstoke we both feel a lot happier. My husbands condition is complected by the fact that he needs a heart operation first and this keeps being postponed because of Covid ,so it is just a waiting game at the moment which is very frustrating X Wishing you a speedy recovery xx
