Hi - first time on here. I had RALP two weeks ago. Catheter out one week ago. I don't seem to be too bad really, aside from my largest wound opening up. I'm finding I leak most when I walk around. Is this common?
Hello Howzy A warm welcome to the online prostate Community - I am so sorry to find you here.
I can't give you any personal advice as I still have my prostate however you will receive plenty of replies and information from the Community members who have been through surgery. There are plenty of great threads on the subject of surgery and below is a link to a cracking thread regarding pads.
Pads and what you need to know
Feel free to ask anything, however trivial, you will receive answers.
Best wishes on your recovery - Brian.

Hi Howzy
Good to hear the surgery went well for you. What you are experiencing is quite normal post op. I found I had no problems lying or sitting but moving around and lifting puts pressure on the bladder sphincter which will be weaked after the surgery and needs retraining. I found that restarting the pelvic squeezes after a few weeks helped a lot. It's early days for you but most people see a steady improvement over the coming months.
Feel free to ask me anything.
Cliff
