Hi All, Happy New Year,

Just an update on myself having had my prostate removed on the 29th September, I've just had my Pathology report full of positivity, everything went according to plan, little bit strange thou! my biopsy's x2 and x2 MRI scans diagnosed me T4 metastatic but isolated to the prostate, the Pathology report thou states it was totally confined to the left side of the prostate and very little on the right side with no signs of it being external! I'm now curious why they took all the surrounding nerves and the seminal glands. I've had varied levels of incontinence but find going to the toilet every 30 minutes or so very helpful, I have ED big time but I've just been granted the vacuum pump on the health service. I've just had the results of my first PSA and its come back at 0.01, happy days for sure.

  • Hell   Well that's good news that the removal operation went to plan and a PSA level of 0.01 is something to shout about. I am sure the "waterworks" will improve given time and you are doing your pelvic floor exercises. As for ED, well the NHS are looking after you in that department and as the saying goes "practice makes perfect" so good luck with that one.

As to being "T4 metastatic" I am confused. Metastatic means it's spread and therefor they would not remove the gland, and in the next sentence "isolated in the prostate". Ah well at least it's out, I know they can't guarantee to spare all the nerves and I assume the seminal glands have been removed just in case there was a spread as that's the first place it goes to!!

Anyway all done so my best wishes for a full recovery and thanks for keeping us in the loop.

    Best wishes - Brian.
