Welcome to the Club that you didn’t want to join. We have all been at this stage and it is the hardest part.
From what you said, my (non medical) opinion is that you have been lucky to be caught early, but if you are able to provide any further info (PSA, and test results) it helps to identify others who have been in a similar situation.
you probably don’t believe me but things will get easier.
Best wishes. David
Good Morning Mark - A warm welcome to the Prostate Cancer forum - we aren't a bad bunch!
David2017 has said it all - the waiting for results and a diagnosis are the hardest part of the journey. Once you find out your diagnosis and how far down the line you are we can give you all the help and advice you need.
In the meanwhile good luck with all your tests/scans - let us know how you get on If you have any questions - however trivial you may think they are - feel free to ask them.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi Mark,
two massive things in your favour:
The cancer is found at Stage 2.
You are 48.
In my opinion, with today’s treatments available to you, you will be completely cured and live a normal life.

Hello and welcome. You are bound to be worried. Whilst we were waiting for test results I drove myself mad with worry. I should have done a batchelors degree in worry I would have got a first with hinours.Don't ever be afraid to ask questions on here, everyone is so nice and helpful.
Picture, from memory I think it takes 7-10 days to start getting results. My advice to you would be to stay in the NHS and don’t go private (even if you can!). I seem to recall that once your results are in, if cancer is found, your case will go to a Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) where all the specialists review a suitable treatment plan. Obviously if no cancer is found - happy days.
This is the worst bit while you wait for results and imagine that every day is critical. In practice, if cancer is found, you will be prescribed an immediate course of hormones to stop testosterone production, then you can take your time.
Please come back if you have any questions. It is useful once you get your results to add them to your profile (you can see mine by clicking the photo of the beach)
I hope your results come back negative. Fingers crossed.
Take care. David
