Prostate scare

Hello members

I am new to this site and this forum. I think it's great that we can all share our individual stories

concerning this particular type of cancer and overcome the worries about what's involved.

I am 63 and around 3 months ago, I started going to the bathroom to pee at night, once or twice and

fairly regular. And it continues as of today.

The following morning, I am extremely tired and I'd go back to bed for 3 or 4 hours.

My PSA, digital rectal exam and Ultrasound all seem normal. So, I don't have BPH. I have been

taking Tamsulosin but it doesn't really help.

I don't drink any fluids or food after 8pm. I do go to pee once during the night but I'm fine the next day.

Recently, I was hungry and had a couple of Weetablix with some milk but that was enough to make me

get me up twice during the night, leaving me EXTREMELY tired the following morning. And now, this is making me feel crazy

to ensure that I don't have any fluids past 8pm.

So, my GP has referred me to see a urologist. Hopefully I will be fast tracked as he has specified.

Has anyone been gone through tis scenario? I'd appreciate your comments.

  • Hi Dip, welcome to the forum, I am answering so as to boost your enquiry and then others who may have your symptoms may come on with their eperiences

I have got enlarged prostate but not what you are describing so can't help with your problems but a reliable site for symptoms etc is Prostate Cancer 100

  • Hello Dip

As Kasvin said above a warm welcome to our little "club".

I am unsure as to if we have any forum members with your particular symptoms, however if we do have I feel sure they will reply. In the meanwhile I hope your visit to Urology brings you some answers, please keep us posted with your results and we may well be able to offer further help and advice.

If it helps you can read my particular journey by clicking on the icon of the beach next to my user name,

    Best wishes - Brian.
