I was diagnosed with T4 advanced prostate cancer last week and to be honest everything is a blur at the moment. I never do social media or forums until now. I have been reading a lot of what people are putting down and there is a lot of positives and encouragement going on.
this is the start of my journey and I hope that we all get through this.
beat wishes to you all
Good Morning SgtL and welcome to the forum - we are a friendly bunch.
I am so sorry to read of your diagnosis, like me it came as a shock and you won't find me on "social media" either. This little Community has been a saviour for me. As soon as I joined I was able to find out everything I needed on here together with all the re-assurances I needed.
It would help us to help you on your journey if you posted details of your diagnosis - you can do this either in a post or completing your personal journey details on your profile. (My diagnosis is Gleason 9(5+4) T3a N0 M0) and you can follow my journey by clicking on the icon of the beach.
Feel free to ask anything - however trivial you think it may be - you will get an answer.
Best wishes with your PCa journey - Brian.

Hi Sgtl
I can still recall, inAugust 2019, walking across the hospital carpark after we had been told. I turned to my partner and asked her WTF happened there. Its a massive shock to you. I too was numb and, fortunately, my partner ( ex- nurse) , was part of the initial, and on going conversations. This was good as nearly all of it went over my head. Try and take someone with you for your consultations.
Ask us whatever you like - there are no silly questions - someone here will be able to help.
As Brian has said, let us have further details, when you have them, and we will do our best to point you in the right direction.
Regards
Stuart

Hi SgtL,
I can imagine that your world fell in when you received your diagnosis, I know mine did in May.
Takes time to process, talk to friends, family and medical staff and it will in time make some sort of sense.
I'm T4 N1 M1 Gleason (5+4). So in a similar boat. I'm on hormone therapy and just had my second dose of chemo (Docetaxel).
Generally feeling ok, I did have some real anxiety problems and got prescribed Citalopram. I felt better soon after and didn't start taking them. I got told off by the manager of the Chemo clinic, "They will help you to get through this" she said, and I'm now taking them. I think they have been a great help help in leveling out the roller coaster! Basically, don't be frightened to talk to your GP about getting something to help your state of mind if necessary.
Good Luck and keep your chin up.
Hi SGLT, sorry to see you on the site but welcome, I'm a T4 matast incurable but treatable, what your feeling is normal, I cryed like a baby when I was diagnosed, it took me week's to get over the shock, but now I'm on a treatment path and reasonable stable, I'm only 3 year's in so plenty of time to continue living my life and enjoying my family and friends, cancer doesn't hold my back in any way.
I know it's hard for you at the moment but there's always a silver lining.
