just over 2 years ago, it moved from .02 to 20 and took a year to fight which was the 5th time I had fought this now it has come back again 6th time in 13 years. This time from 2 to 80 in 3 months. last time was hard this time even harder to get a handle on it. It's like an old friend you don't want to see, yet still keeps coming back, I'm no slouch with this I know that one day it will win and I always thought that it would be the 7th time that got me.

  • Hi Graham,

What’s your plan of action now are you having hormone treatment? Chemo?  I’m intrigued to know more details about your journey and what treatment you’ve had over the years, (your bio says prostate removal and RT )Did you have HT with RT? At the moment my partners cancer is under control but we both know it’s going to resurface in some form in the future. I’m unable to relax, hence reading this forum through the night rather than sleeping!

  • Hello Graham.

I am relatively new to this forum so am not sure if you have posted before, but if not then welcome. If you have been dipping into the posts then you will see that they are wide ranging and with a touch of humour at times which is how many of us get through, but overall supportive.

I so admire all you men who are fighting this unwelcome 'friend'. You have been through a lot since your diagnosis in 2010 and am sure you have a lot of experience to share which will give hope and inspiration to others who are either just starting on or are partly through their journeys. My husband is now having chemotherapy after the third recurrence and can empathize with the toll it takes on you but is also pragmatic that it will probably get him in the end as his version is both rare and very aggressive. If you would like to give a summary of your journey then this might help others who are wondering what is next after HT and 2nd generation anti androgens fail, but are afraid to ask. Please keep us up to date with your journey, but also if you just need a friendly word from someone. Dig deep for the next round and remember this is number 6, not number 7.

  • Hello Graham and a warm welcome.

I think  and  have already said what I intended to say in a nutshell (no pun intended) and am so sorry to find you in this situation. You have been through the mill with this diagnosis!

All I would add is that there is another forum here Emotional support forum where you may find some additional help to cope with your feelings (just click the link provided and when the page open up click "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page) and as always we as a Community are here for you.

Do keep in touch as by you posting others are being helped to understand their own personal journey.

    Best wishes

    Brian.

  • Hi Graham.

I note that you have updated your profile and say you have had treatments before the radiotherapy. Could you elaborate on what these were as this will help people understand your journey better eg. was it different HT routes or possibly chemotherapy cycles. Thank you so much for the insight.
