Hi everyone I'm new to this group and am finding myself in a bad place, my husband George just went into remission 4 weeks ago after fighting a form of Non Hodgins Lymphoma for over a year, we were over the moon when he went into remission, but his last PET Scan also showed a very tiny spot on his prostate, he went for a biopsy last week and his consultant said there is cancer present, think his score is 8, but the consultant does not seem overly concerned. I'm absolutely gutted for my hubby, he is totally exhausted from his last round of treatment and now this, I haven't slept since we heard hubby is taking it in his stride very laid back about the whole thing, won't settle till we have seen the consultant, hopefully it won't be as bad as I'm thinking, thanks for listening to me
Hibbie
Hi Hibbie
Welcome to the group - I know you don't want to be here but we are a decent lot!
Prostate Cancer is slow growing - wait until you have the full details - probably a biopsy and then we can give you some help and advice!
He's right - don't lose any sleep - and wait until you have some figures - but ask what you want in the mean time!
Kind Regards
Brian.

Hi Brian thank you for getting back to me, I think I'm so upset because he just finished one course of treatment for one form of cancer and just starting to relax, and then this, yes he has had a biopsy and scan so it's just waiting to meet up with the consultant to find out what's going on, so fingers crossed it doesn't take to long
Hi Hibbie, so sorry to hear of yours and your husband’s diagnosis, I myself have had all the tests, aggressive fast growing PC, contained within the capsule, been on HT for 7 months awaiting RT, my consultant (Western Park hospital Sheffield) said she is not looking to treat me but cure me. So stay strong there is a multitude of treatments available nowadays, take care you are both in our thoughts.
Hi Hibbie - The waiting for results is the worst bit!! Let's hope they are good. Stick with us there are plenty of treatments available, just as "Grumpyoldman" has said above.
Just as an aside if you click on the icon of the beach you can read my journey through this - I had issues - but I've got there - it's not quite a "double A" ride but it's a journey!
Best wishes
Brian.

Hello Hibbie
We are so sorry to hear of this 'double whammie'. To have struggled through one bout of cancer is bad enough, but to have it again is cruel, but please don't despair, prostate cancer is very curable/treatable. So far on my husband's journey, the waiting has been worse than the treatment. When we get the latest CT scan results next week, we may change that opinion, but having a positive attitude is essential. The informed support we have enjoyed on this forum is marvellous. Please don't feel you are alone as we will all be 'rooting for you'!
Eh up Grumpyoldman Tha's the wrong side o'th Pennnines, but I still wish you well with the RT. .
Like you I was given Radiotherapy (I am aware you are waiting for yours) "with the aim of being curative" and 6 months after the RT I fell amazing. Still on the Hormones for another 18 months but what the heck - someone's giving you a treatment for Cancer that is curative - yes sir I will have that!
Best wishes from deepest Lancashire. .
Brian.

Thank you, just concerned that he is still recovering from his last bout of cancer, and now he might have to start over, but we will be strong and face this journey together not
Hi Hibbie
When you see the consultant, take a note pad with a list of questions. Take note of the answers or, as others have suggested, ask to record the meeting on your phone. Wish I had as I didn't hear a thing after the word 'cancer', but fortunately, my ex nurse partner did.
The waiting for everything isn't good, particularly if you have no patience like me, but hang in there!
Regards
Stuart
