Hi Everyone

I'm new here and as I've only just been diagnosed. I am feeling more than a little confused by it all at the moment, but it's great to know that I now have people to talk to about it that don't want to run a mile at the mention of cancer.

  • Hi Pit63,

Welcome to a place where you can mention the "C' word and theres plenty of people to talk to if you need any help with anything..

    Best wishes

  • Hello Pita63

    Welcome to the club!

Yes a cancer diagnosis is very confusing and takes some time to sink in. Once you have some figures from your diagnosis Gleason Score, Staging, PSA etc stick them on here and the good people of the Community will get back to you.

Whatever you want to ask feel free, winge if you want to, or just let your frustrations go - we are here for you and this is the place to be for all things Prostate Cancer related - and anything else.

    Keep us posted.

    Kind Regards

    Brian.

    • Hi - Welcome to this very supportive 'club'.  Everyone's experience is different except perhaps the shock of diagnosis.  In our view the first fews weeks were the worst - waiting for appointments, tests, results, scans etc.  Once you have an idea of the options available to you and you start treatment you will settle down a bit.  You can talk about anything on this forum, rant and vent your anger or frustration if you like, nobody will judge you.  We wish you and yours well   If you want to see my husband's/our journey so far click on the butterfly icon.

    1. Hi - we were wondering how the first sessions of RT from the 12th June were?  Do you go every working day, how long is a session, have you had any side effects so far?  My husband is on HT (6 monthly injections of Decapeptyl) and has had 3 of 6 cycles of chemotherapy so far.  The Oncologist has suggested that the next step after chemo will be RT.  The extreme fatigue is frustrating at the moment - can't walk very far at all without feeling breathless and exhausted.  No more 20 mile bike rides although has managed the odd 10k steps by pushing to the limit.  (The dog can't understand why he's not getting out much - I'm still waiting  for 2nd knee replacement 4 years after the first was done, so can't step into the breech.)  We wish you all the best with your ongoing treatment.  Onwards and upwards.
