Hi, I’m almost 84 and been diagnosed with prostrate cancer which has spread, I’ve had my first injection, I’m very confused and very low, any help would be appreciated
Hi Daisydog - Welcome to our club - I know you didn't want to join but it's the best place for help and advice.
Prostate Cancer isn't the end of the world - the diagnosis is hard to take in but the survival figures are good. I assume you have received your first hormone injection - am I correct?
To enable us to help you a little bit of information would be great - Gleason score and PSA number if you have them and details of any MRI and CT scans.
Prostate Cancer thrives on testosterone and if this can be reduced the cancer can't grow - that's the reason you will have received the hormone injection - to stop the cancer growing.
Once we have some figures from you we should be able to give you further advice.
16 months ago I was in your situation - confused and wondering what was to happen - I am now very well and through my treatment - you can read my journey through cancer by clicking on the icon of the beach.
I hope the above helps - you are not alone - there is always someone here for you - feel free to post any questions or worries and a member of the community will be back online to answer.
Kind regards
Brian.
