I have had my prostate removed 29 Dec and still struggle with leakage. I have stopped with pelvic floor exercises as it doesn't seem to get any better. Will I ever get dry? I only use 1 Tena in the day and change it at bedtime but am usually dry overnight.

Still no sign of an erection but that's less of a concern tbh.

  • Hi Firstbreak. You are in very early days. Recovering incontinence and ED is so very slow for many from what I understand. There is no defined time frame and it can be immediate , months or over a year. For some unfortunately matters do not resolve themselves.  I had my op in September. I had incontinence very bad until month 4. Then things improved vastly within about a month and I found myself down to 1 pad a day.  I am still at 1 pad but the problem has certainly improved considerably over the past two months and leakage is minimal. Try to keep positive and patient. I cut out alcohol and caffiene, have been walking every day when possible and have kept up the pelvic floor exercises. I have also changed my eating habits and try to maintain a healthy diet. I really don't know if any of that has helped but my thoughts have been that I will do whatever I can to help my body heal and really what I have done takes very little effort. A number of specialists have stressed that pelvic floor exercises are essential and also that is the tone on forums I have visited. My thoughts are that it may be worth your while continuing with these. Re ED, have you access to an ED nurse facility? There are things which may help tabs, injections, penile pump, etc. Best of luck on your full recovery.

  • I await an appointment re ED and thanks for the advice I maybe need to focus back on the exercises more which everyone says helps.Im only 3 months in so maybe need to be a little more patient
