Hi I've been reading your amazing stories.

My hubby to-be has recently found out his prostrate cancer is back.

Hi PSA in around 2015 led to referrals and several yrs back and forth before biopsy showed Gleason 3&4 -7 - stages 3a

He had hormone treatment In 2018 followed by radical Radiatotheropy in 2019.

He and I  Met in 2021

His PSA dripped to .5 for about 6 months. Then several spikes over the next year,  and then the magic 2 led to PSMA scans.

Diagnosis before christmas is was that 2 previous concerning lymph nodes hadn't changed yet there was a new active lymph node and a tumour in base of spine.

This was the day the world came crashing down.

We only been together 18 months and were planning our wedding ( both old, 50-60)

The fantastic oncologist in Birmingham said he was going to EBRT to the bone and the new affected lymph node and that Hormone therapy is palliative and the short  radiotherapy will aim to seriously reduce the cancer in the bone , that would cause pain as it grows etc.

The Multidisciplinary Team *MDT. Have said no, he's not suitable for radiotherapy as its also in lymph node.

We are devastated. Care is being moved as we no longer live anywhere near Birmingham .

We are in limbo, we are awaiting treatment transfer , and a plan of what treatment is available .

He asked the  consultant for a time frame .. which was 3 to 4 yrs.

I have a 13yr old at home as well. That news has destroyed us , he is a strong strong man who is a wreck, and its been 6 weeks since diagnosis and we still don't know what is happening

6 weeks of 3yrs is actually a long long time..

My world is so Dark right now and I have a 13yr old

Sorry to burden you lovely people  in my phone

  • sorry to hear WW, now may be the time to look at clinical trials,  www.canserresearchuk.org look under clinical trials.

two in particular PARP inhibitors and immunotherapy , think am right in saying appropriate in particular for advanced cancers.

take a look , let us know how it goes

    best wishes
