Hi I’m jeff 62 years old
I had my Prostate removed 18 months ago
but I still can’t get on erection and I’m wishing I had gone private
they tell me the nerves will get better with time but I’m not hopeful and very depressed about it.
Is there anyone out there who has the same problem
There will be many men here going through exactly what you are.
My ED lasted about 20 months. I'm just starting to get a little life down there.
My libido was zero so it didn't really bother me that much.
You will get lots of answers with a lot of practical advice, all from personal experiences.
Best of luck.

Hi Daniel
When my catheter finally came out I had no control at all and I thought this was how I was going to be,but after about a week it started to come back and now I’m ok except if I drink too much
so hopefully you will be okay
But I would look into going private if you can as in hindsight I should have done
Good luck
Hi Jeff and Daniel, my friend choose to have the op just over 1year ago his nerve was nicked as well had ed and a bag to start with, the cathitor was removed he was incontinent for about 10 day's, took best part of a year to see signs that his ed was improving, just not quite there yet but won't be long,
Have you had any ED support yet, such as being prescribed the higher doses of PDE5 inhibitors to try (100mg Sildenafil or 20mg Tadalafil)? As the nerves start to recover, it will most likely show up with these medications first. Also note you won't get an erection just by taking theses tablets, you do also have to be sexually aroused too.
Ask for a referral to ED clinic or Andrology department. If you aren't yet able to get regular erections, you should also be prescribed a pump so you can do regular penile rehab (to keep the erectile tissues working in the absence of regular natural erections). You might also be prescribed penile injections if you want to have sex, which should generate erections without the nerves needing to work, although you won't get prescribed enough of these to fulfill the role of penile rehab.
