With the help from The Highlander there's a chance I might send a successful post. I was diagnosed with High Risk Advanced Prostate Cancer just over a year ago and was told I could expect around 5 years of survival. One down, Four to go?
I tried Doxetaxel but had to stop after 10 mins due to extremly severe lower back pain. Very dissapointing so I asked about Aberaterone, only to be told it was very expensive and a grant would have to be applied for, yet I read of other people from other trusts who seem to routinely receive this obviously effective treatment.
Having said this I have had seven weeks of Radiotherapy alongside the Zoladex implants and my PSA is now 0.36 down from 61 and my Oncologist does say I am doing well. So do I accept this and sit back till things change, or should I do more? Also still really tired and lacking energy 5 months after RT, will this improve?
Looking forward to hearing your opinions and thanks for reading my moan

Hi Arthur
What part of the country are you in ? As in Britain we have alternative medications if the first does not work. I’m on enzalutamide, just slightly different to Arberaterone, I know their both expensive, but it’s usually the way hospitals go one or the other. Five years is just a guess, I’ve had mine six and a half years, so stay positive.
Stay safe
Joe
