Hi,
I’m an Englishman living in France so although the healthcare system is great here there doesn’t seem to be any support groups, so I hope it’s ok to use this platform for discussion.
I have been having symptoms of prostate cancer but thought it was an age thing until I had routine blood tests for my medication, this showed a raised PSA level of 6.1, my doctor referred me to a urologist who did a DRE and found my prostate to be enlarged. I then had a camera to check my bladder which thankfully is ok. I then went for an MRI and it came in as PIRADS 4, a high probability of cancer. I had a biopsy two weeks ago and now I’m waiting for my results which should be 4th January.
I’m finding it hard to get on with anything thinking about what’s going to happen… I know I’m a high probability of it being cancer. I’m tired all the time which is unlike me, I love to get out walking taking wildlife photos but I just can’t motivate myself.
I try to keep upbeat for my wife and she listens to me and supports me but I feel helpless just waiting.
Hi Blue, sorry to hear.
Good news your PSA is not high Pirads 4 could be cancer but not def, u need a biopsy result to confirm.
Hopefully it will be a non aggressive cancer confined to the gland which is potentially easily treated.
When u get your Gleeson, hopefully lowish ask them if cancer contained within gland, but more hopefully it may not be cancer.
Let us know how it goes
Steve
