I’m now cancer free but keen to promote getting tested and also dispel misinformation about the treatment. A television sports commentator recently posted about the pain her ‘fit’ husband was in and how he had several slits in his abdomen. This completely misrepresents what RALP, robot assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy is about. I had no pain, was in hospital for one night and had support for one night after returning home before I was able to look after myself.
Hi John. You are the first person I have heard of that had no pain after a RALP. For a doctor to tell someone there is no pain after a RALP would be malpractice. For most, the pain is significant, especially in the first few days. In my case, it was much better after a week, and no pain at all after 2 months. Glad to hear you got along so well.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
