Hi everyone , I was diagnosed in November with mastatic prostate cancer that has  spread to my rectum ,I've been through  hormone therapy , RT and chemotherapy   and although  after the initial  relief of being able to go to toilet properly I am now back to square one .

At the age of 64 having to where incontinence pads, it is so depressing ,I can t exercise , carry out physical work even do  the gardening without wanting to go to the toilet.

Is there anyone out there who can advise on what can be done about this condition , i feel maybe a colostrum  bag maybe the only answer .

Any advise or help  with this situation would be greatly appreciated .

MUST EXCUSE ME I NEED TO GO TO TOILET :((

  • Hi Willis422,

Are you sure it is the cancer which is causing the incontinence? I am assuming you mean bowel? If so, my husband also had the same problems but was not told it had gone to the rectum but was having constant diarrhea for months. We were told this is not normal for PC, so eventually and after a private consultation with a gastro consultant, they discovered it was microscopic colitis. On steroids now, and he is doing so well and no more accidents. He still has bladder incontinence, more dribbling which is apparently normal, so wears pads supplied by district nurses.

Maybe worth checking it is definitely due to the prostate cancer.

    Best regards

    Gina
