My name is Peter i have recently been diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, which is also in my Lymph Nodes and Pelvic bones, I am currently on a hormone tablet but have to discuss with the oncologist next week about treatment and the way forward. I am extremely worried and scared by this whole situation, and would appreciate any help or advice from others that have been through this type of cancer, and what I may expect to deal with in the future. I hope to live for many years yet, but im not sure now, what my life expectancy is going to be. Can anyone give me some hope and any success stories would be much appreciated. I would very much like to have someone to talk to about all this that knows what its like and the fears and questions that go through your mind. Many thanks for reading this, and I wish you all the very best of health for the future. Peter.

Hi Paul, it looks like you have been through the mill with all that, but also that your are now on the upward path again, im so sorry that you have had so much to deal with at such a young age as well. Could I ask you did you at any stage have your bladder stop working on you and have to have a catheter?, I still have a catheter but its very uncomfortable I have to see the Urologist again next Monday to discuss my diagnosis and what treatment they can offer. Its all very scary.
PEDRO
Thank you Pedro, it's life isn't it, got to roll with the punches. Only trouble I had was when I was in hospital. I had a catheter fitted and my bowel went to sleep with laying flat for nearly a week while full, took 7 enemas and a hell of a lot of laxatives to get me moving. I've not had any real problems since other that a little discomfort after having the radio therapy.
Regards
Paul

Sorry I cannot be of more help with the catheter problems mate. It is a very scary time, it's the not knowing what's next that was getting to me but hopefully they'll get to it soon. Have you started on HT therapy?
Regards
Paul
