Hi

I am 63 and was diagnosed 01-09-2020 at 61

Locally Advanced Prostate Cancer

High range

Treatable not curable

Broken out into the lymph nodes deep in my pelvis

T3b N1 M0

Gleason 4=5=9

I have been on Monthly Prostap Injections since I was diagnosed.

Apparently the injections should of been at three monthly intervals, however it wasn't noticed by my GP's and I was changed to three monthly last time.

My final injection will be in June.

PSA 0.01 Undetectable currently

On a recent telephone consult with my Oncologist (6 monthly check) she decided that due to unannounced bowel and bladder movements that I should see my urologist.

The urologist prescribed Solifenacin 5mg/10mg and the bowel movements were due to my treatment.

I had Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy in 2021

I also told her that one of my testicles was extremely sore and had been for some time.

Due to the Prostap everything in the downstairs department is redundant.

After completing a testicular examination she said all seemed well (no lumps/nice and smooth)

I accepted this and thought that this must be alright and otherwise normal.

Today a week later after nothing to eat or drink as normal the pain is back, over the last few days I have moved to pain relief which does help.

I didn't know if anyone else had experienced anything likewise with Hormone Therapy / Prostate Cancer and would be interested before I resort to my GP

(I don't want to appear stupid)

Any advice would be taken on board and I would be most grateful.

Please feel free to read my profile.

Thanks for reading this,

  • Hi . I was on Prostap for three years but didn't experience any testicular pain. They did shrink to about half their original size but have now almost returned to normal nearly a year after my last Prostap3 injection in June 2021.

If you are worried you should contact your GP again or the Oncology Department.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.

  • Hi Seamus47

    Thank you for your reply.

I'll will call the GP and see what happens.

I'd forgot they were down there to be honest with all that been going on, might be their way of saying hello.

Thanks again, its good to know what others are thinking.

    Take care

  • Hi Spud,

I have been on prostap for a year , I noticed more of a ache in my testicles and sometimes I could feel a lump and other times I couldn’t.

After a few weeks I was concerned enough to see my GP who did an examination and couldn’t find any issues, however to be on the safe side I have an appointment at the  hospital for an ultrasound, all the best
