Hi
I am 80 years old and originally had a scan and blood test for a hernia. I was told that my psa was slightly high and was then sent for a test and biopsy. I had a phone call yesterday to say that I had early signs of prostrate cancer with a score of 7. I was then asked to collect hormone tablets and I would then have injections and then radiology treatment at a later date. I was given a booklet to read and the effect of the hormones sounds terrible and nothing has been explained. Where do I go from here?
You'll have further investigations, to confirm what stage your cancer is, and - depending on that - the treatment plan may be adjusted.
Prostate cancer is a relatively slow moving thing, so you'll likely have more problems with the hormone treatment than with the cancer.
It's important to stay active. But, you just get on with your life!
It's also well worth reading the 'toolkit' for general advice.

If I can't beat this, I'm going for the draw.
Meanwhile, my priority is to live while I have the option.
Hi
As Heinous has said PC is very slow moving, always if your not sure about what’s being told you, take someone with you, write down some questions, their all good people and will do their best to answer.
What they have given is the first line of attack against the cancer, this can be followed up by different treatments depending on how everything is working, plus your general health.
Stay safe
Joe
