Hi.
This is my first post.
With very minor symptoms my GP sent me for a blood test which came back with PSA of 465 !!!
I spent the whole night with google and lots of red wine working out what that meant.
Now had various scans and a prostate biopsy which show Gleason score of 8 one lobe and 9 the other.
The only good news is that results from the scans means there is no sign of spread beyond the prostate.
I have now got my head round the seriousness of all this but actually I am not that stressrd at the moment.
All this happened since 16th Oct this year 2001
2021?
Hi, don't be alarmed at the PSA level, it is of little significance. Rises and falls matter, and the *rate* of rises and falls matters even more, but the initial result is just a message to say 'get investigated!'.
Do you know your TNM?
(Tumour, Nodes, Metastases)

Heinous
If I can't beat this, I'm going for the draw.
Meanwhile, my priority is to live while I have the option.
Yes 2021 sorry. Don't know TNM as such but I have since learned there is spread to seminal vescicles and one lymph node in the groin. Still only seen a consultant urologist but have my first appointment with the oncologist in a week. Hopefully I will learn my treatment plan then though I have been on hormone treatment since the biopsy. Waiting is the worst part
Hi
Have you had any scans yet, as in mri, pet scan etc, waiting is the biggest part of this, things are happening as your team works out how to treat you, which way is best, plus they usually have a few options for you to choose, so don’t rush think what’s being offered.
your PSA was high mine was 893, there have been others higher, so don’t worry about yours.
Stay safe
Joe
Hi Joe.
MRI, CT and bone scans showed the only spread appears to be local. One lymph node in the groin and seminal vescicles.
I have now had 2 rounds of chemo which I am coping with ok. PSA last measured at 22. Definitely the right direction!
What are your experiences? What treatment are you on? I have not talked with anyone with a higher PSA than mine.
Hi
It all looks going nicely, just beware when on chemo that your bloods are low and catching things is very easy.
Having said that keep up the positivity and you will get through this.
I’m on enzalutamide been on it for around 15 months, my PSA on last check was around six, know more in a month.
Stay safe
Joe
Just going into my 3rd chemo out of 8. First time I was bad for 2 days. Next was 4 days. I hope it isn't an increasing pattern.
