Hi
Just recently been diagnosed with Prostate cancer aged 50. Group grade 1 and Gleason 6 so placed on Active Surveillance for now with PSA due to be rechecked in 3 months.
Feels a bit surreal and quite scary, but know I should remain positive.
Hi sparky
This is a good place to be for answers, anything you need to know just ask. You have a low grade PC so surveillance is usually the thing in these cases. PC is very slow to grow so don’t worry, the team will pick anything up on your next check. No need to be scared their are people like me who even with incurable PC have gone on to live for five years plus and yours is very curable.
Stay safe

Hi Sparky
Sorry to hear about the PC, both my brother and I have PC, my brother has been on active surveillance for the last seven years, blood tests every six months, and biopsy every year, he takes medication to reduce the size of his prostate so he can urinate normally, but apart from that he has a normal life. The trick is not to worry about it, the doctors will keep you informed.
