Hi I'm new on here.

Hubby has advanced Mets in spine and rib.  Some vertebrae n his upper spine now fused and he is bed bound at home with catheter etc.  Still recieving 3 monthly prostat injections but enzalutamide discontinued and chemo not recommended.  Has a lot of muscle wastage, and swollen feet.

No further treatment or monitoring by oncology.  Doctor not doing any blood tests.

Anyone had similar?  No idea now what is happening with the cancer progression and no idea what to expect next.  (Feeling abandoned).

  • Hi 3616 and welcome to the forum. I'm sorry that I can't help with your situation but I suggest you contact the Macmillan nurses or the nurses on the Prostate Cancer UK website. If there's a Maggie's Centre near you they are also very helpful.

    Keep in touch.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.

  • Hi

Being here is a start, your never abandoned, we’re not doctors just people who have gone through similar treatments and give help and advice where we can.

Why was the enzalutamide stopped ? I cannot believe they would just leave you hanging with no further information. A good place to to go is a maggies centre, if there’s not one near you then McMillan nurses give them a phone tell them of your situation. Does a nurse come and visit if not ask for one you are entitled.

    Stay safe
