A big thankyou to all for welcoming me. My psa was 549 and scans show considerable spread to bones. Started hormone therapy, but don't have meeting about other possible treatment until mid September. Waiting is worst part at moment.

There is still hope though, new treatments etc 

I would imagine they will start u on a course of Chemo soon, probably waiting for the hormone therapy to do it's work. Should get your PSA right down.

I know that the waiting is the worst  part but at least treatment had started

I couldn't agree more.  The waiting at the beginning of my journey was almost as bad as the diagnosis. The HT, as has already been said will knock your PSA for 6 so don't let that bother you.
