I am not coping very well with my diagnosis and my clinical support worker has suggested that I speak to a councillor, I was just wondering if anyone has found this helpful.
Hi John and welcome
I read thru your history, still potentially curable with the Radiotherapy.
It is a big shock to the system on diagnosis but it does get better especially once RT commences.
Counselling can definitely help u come to terms with it, if u have a Macmillan branch within your cancer centre have a chat with them about it
Things will get better.
Best wishes
Steve
I always thought counselling to be a waste of time but shortly after my diagnosis I was offered it from my local Cancer Wise Charity and was very surprised just how much it helped to sort exactly how I felt and why I felt that way. I would not fail to recommend it now. My advice give it a go you have nothing to loose and everything to gain. I hope whatever you decide and any treatment you have goes exceptionally weil for you.
Best regards Reg
