Hi he has been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer he has had an operation on his neck to stabilise the bone in April due to this and has been on degaralix since March which has now been changed to prostrap , he now has a decision to make on what to do next he has been told he can just have the hormone injection . Have docetaxel chemo, or enzalutamide tablets we are not sure which option to take as he is just getting back to being able to get about again after the OP. Would having the chemo set him back again
Thanks
Hello
Sorry about how things are working out, does he have any underlying conditions ? Also what is his age and is he physically fit. To me as I’ve had chemo it’s the best way to attack the cancer. I’ve had hormone, chemo and radiotherapy and now on enzalutamide which for me makes me tired and fatigued, we are all different some people sail through these things and hardly get any side effects. Chemo will take it out of him, but if you take enzalutamide first you can fall back on chemo.
sorry not to be more of a help, there both good medication I have metastatic it’s in my bones, but almost five years on, I’am still on here giving advice best I can. What was his PSA and Gleason and what stage is he ?
I know this is a worry for both of you, we all say being positive is the best thing, keeping spirits going is important.
Stay safe
Joe
