I'm thinking of this treatment any thoughts - so difficult on your own.
Hi Pogrom.
As u r probably aware Cryotherapy is not a mainstream treatment like surgery or RT.
Similar level to HI Fu which has had a resurgence because apparently more NHS centres r going to use it.
I don't think there is any long term success data on these treatments .
U don't give any stats like PSa, Gleeson, any particular reason why u don't want to go down the surgery/RT route?
Steve
Hi Steve,
these treatments are being more widely used and more evidence is being gathered which will contribute to long term results.
5 year outcomes appear similar to other treatments fewer side effects but a risk of recurrence.
I'm having difficulty in weighing up short term benefits with long term risk.
I'm having a wobble and considering surgery.
PXX
All treatments have the risk of recurrence it's a question of % success rate.
I think I am right in saying that surgery and RT are similar success at approx 70-80%, maybe slightly higher. Not sure about Hi Fu and Cryo.
Look at possible side effects for each treatment and see which u would rather not have,
I had RT by the way and so far so good.
