Hi guys I finished 20rounds of radiotherapy and 6months of hormone therapy just over a year ago now and have just had my latest PSA result which was 0.2 I was a little disappointed with it but don't get me wrong I'm happy that I'm well and below 1 am I being stupid ?
Hello Lotus2011
That's a great result. As you still have a prostate then you can expect a "trace" of PSA in your blood.
Your lowest or nadir PSA reading should be 18 months after the end of radiotherapy.
You can expect further intervention if you have 3 consecutive rises in your PSA readings or 1 rise of +2.
Carry on with your life, all is good.
Best wishes - Brian.
