My husband had RARP in dec 2024, persistent PSA 0.14 . T3bNoM0. Advised to have RT in August 25 and is on HT. He has had no incontinence problems until now . Urologist attempted a cystoscopy but couldn’t reach his bladder, but the sphincter and urethra ok. Consultant is now proposing an incision to the bladder neck but there is a risk of incontinence or it might not work . Does anyone been in a similar situation and how successtreatment is this treatment , what are the risks ?Thank you for your help.
Hello Jan
I haven't had this surgery but am aware it's called a BNI (Bladder Neck Incision). Off hand I can't think of any prostate group Community members who have had this treatment, although that's not to say there aren't any. (I've been wrong before).
This surgery is also used for people with bladder cancer - so why not ask your question on the bladder group too? Here's the link you need:
I hope the above helps - do let us know how you get on.
Best wishes - Brian.
