For some time now my lower legs have been ‘twitchy’ late in the evening if I have been sitting down for a while.
More recently a number of small, red lumps have appeared on both legs which I would describe as hot and very itchy, which I put down to insect bites after working in the garden one day. They have been there for a couple of weeks now with little change.
I’m 9 months post-pelvic RT (lymph node involvement), on 3-monthly Zolodex LA injections, Apixaban (anti-coag), a statin and AdCal D3. Just curious if these could be a side-effect of the drugs - or I have become more attractive to insects?
Has anyone else also experienced these things?
Hello Amplitude
Good question - I can't answer it fully but 3 months after radiotherapy I developed a full body "itch". I spoke to the team at Christies and they said is was a reaction to either the RT or HT (Decapeptyl). I was prescribed some E45 cream.
The E45 didn't quite hit the spot but a cream called Aproderm and Childs Farm Baby Moisturiser did. It took about 3 months to fully settle down. I still use Aproderm on rough skin on my feet!
My team do recommend I let them know of any changes to my general health (they diagnosed a rotator cuff issue for me as I thought it was the cancer!) - I think I would have a word with your oncology team on Tuesday.
Kind regards - Brian.

Hi Amplitude , early on in my treatment I had itching and red spots. I saw a dermatologist who suggested I change from standard shower products to QV gentle. I get this from Boots (other pharmacies are available). My skin is much thinner than it ever was (poss chemo, RT, HT or old age) and I think reacts badly to sunlight, so I try and use factor 50 whenever possible.
Best wishes, David
