I have my urologist visit on Friday to discuss my MRI results.

I'm a realist.... My MRI wasn't good and I've been having bad back and hip pain constantly.

So I can see the handwriting on the wall. I'm pretty sure I'm looking at Stage IV with bone metastasis Pensive

Just wanted to know if others here are in the same situation and how has it gone for them...

  • Harry (

You need to chill - stop reading Dr Google - anxiety will kill you before prostate cancer has even been diagnosed!!

I've said what I think here:

     Got MRI Results Today

You need to wait on your diagnosis - you are only making life difficult for both yourself and wife. You will get your answers in due course, you've not even had a biopsy yet!

    Kind Regards - Brian.

  • Hi Harry

Impossible to say if in bones although I would say unlikely cos of tumour (s) sizes.

Also still waiting for biopsy to confirm cancer and if aggressive or not.

So as  Brian has just said, chill out, it still looks ok but as I think I mentioned in an earlier post do ask if tumours near border edge or not, cos important point

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Thank You, Steve.

    Appreciate your words.

I will ask the urologist on Friday.

    Thanks again Thumbsup

  • Very true, Brian...

I just need to wait for the diagnosis...

    Thank You as always Hugging

  • Look at it like this , if still contained in the gland then great, easy to treat, that's if it is cancer, still to be confirmed

If just broken through then a little more tricky but still potentially curable.

If in bones then obviously more serious but I would be very surprised if that the case.

    All the best for Friday

  • Hi

My husband aged 52 has been going under investigation for prostate issues as well. His late father and grandfather had prostate cancer. First PSA was 10.7 and now it has increased to 12. His MRI score was a PI-RADS 3. No obvious target lesion. However some PI-RADS 2 and PI-RADS 3 change within the prostate.

He is going to have a transperineal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy next Monday.

I'm very worried about my husband. However I think the biopsy will be the only thing that will confirm if we are dealing with prostate cancer or not.

Sending you best wishes for Friday.

  • Hello Clare,

This is maddening.  The wait times between tests are the worse.

It is good that your husband is going well and moving forward Point right

    Count his blessings

I had the MRI on Monday and I received my MRI results on Tuesday and of course, in Spanish. It was completed quickly but I had to wait for the urologist to explain it to me.

Trying to decipher the medical terms so it makes sense to me. And I am struggling with symptoms for about 3 weeks now.  Makes this so physically and mentally tiring.

Haven't gone to the bathroom in almost for 3 week. Been to ER four times because of this. They administered an enema Sunday evening. I have a colonoscopy scheduled for the 12th.

Now, all I have to find out I have PC and CC at the same time Grimacing

A perfect Christmas gift for the family Expressionless

  • Hopefully things will become clearer for you in the next few weeks (when you've had your biopsy and get the results). Until then it's trying to deal with the uncertainty of it all.
