Hello Everyone,
Got my MRI results today.
Not good news.
It seems I have a nodule on top of the prostate and one at the bottom, with intermediate and high probability of cancer.
Going to see urologist on Friday.
I don't know if a MRI can see metastasis... MRI didn't mention that.
Would appreciate your thoughts on this...
Hello Harry (Harry300a5bc36)
The MRI should also have shown any tumor within the prostate, it's size and if it had broken out. The nodules sound like they are still part of the prostate so all is good. They should have also had a PI-RADS score that would have indicated the clarity of the scan and the probability of cancer.
For me the jury is out until you have your biopsy results, and a Gleason and TNM score.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hello Brian,
The one on top was PIRAD 4 and the other was PIRAD 3.
What does that actually mean?
Hi Harry
PIRADS 3 , uncertain if cancer, PIRADS 4 cancer likely
Had another look at your stats and it's still far from clear, PSA not particularly high, biopsy needed to confirm it is cancer.
If MRI showed any potential tumour size that would help.
But at the moment still looks low key.
Best wishes
Steve
Hello Steve,
One is 11.4 mm and the other 12.3mm
Ok , that Def helps.
My largest one was 13mm so obviously similar.
They haven't said that moved outside the gland so presuming contained within, so good.
So just biopsy needed now to confirm then a treatment plan to be confirmed.
Steve
Thank You, Steve.
The MRI didn't state it moved out.
So I hope it is within the prostate.
I'm a nervous wreck.
Try and calm down a bit, I know easily said but it doesn't look too bad, potentially curable that's the main thing.
When is your biopsy?
Steve
Would the MRI report say if the nodules had moved out?
I don't know yet.
My urologist visit is this Friday. Is a biopsy something that needs to be planned or can an urologist do it in the office in an ordinary office visit?
Yes it should but your oncologist should tell U that, presume you're discussing later in week, make sure U confirm with him that contained
