I do hope that it is OK to post this here. I received an email promoting me to contact my local MP. I included a very short resume of my journey thus far.
"Dear Kevan
We’re close. The UK National Screening Committee (UK NSC) is putting the finishing touches to its prostate cancer screening review—and what happens next will shape men’s health for years. On Tuesday 14 October, from 13:30–15:30 Prostate Cancer Research will launch a report in the House of Commons showing how a screening programme can be delivered – from NHS capacity and capability to case-finding high-risk men, while minimising pressure on GPs.
The cross-party event is sponsored by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Prostate Cancer Chair Calvin Bailey MBE MP, Foreign Secretary Rt Hon David Lammy MP, and PCR Ambassador and former PM Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP.
We need your MP there. Please invite them now using our quick tool - it takes just 60 seconds.
Simply follow the link below (www.proactiveforyourprostate.co.uk), enter your postcode and you will get a pre-populated email that you can adapt and send. Please don’t forget to add your own personal story to the email as well as your name and address at the end so your MP knows you are from their constituency."
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
