A little off topic but, this little animal helped raise so much for cancer charities. So, I hope the moderator permits this post.
‘Oscar’ the Tesco Stowmarket cat had to be put down because he had stomach cancer.
Oscar was a celebrity at the store and helped raise £1000’s towards cancer charities.
this from the East Anglia daily times - although he was responsible for raising money for other cancer charities
“In 2023 he even got involved in helping to raise more than £1,000 for Marie Curie (and other cancer charities).
Mrs Nolan added: "It was just one of the places he loved to go."
A social media post from an account dedicated to Oscar announcing his death has garnered more than 1,300 likes and 400 comments.
One person said: "This wonderful cat brought so much joy to our life, whether it being him there for a stroke, holding up the car park or getting in my car when getting a click and collect."
Lots of cancer patients would give Oscar a little stroke either on their way in or out of the store.
He will be missed!

Thank you for sharing, it's a human interest story. Ironic however that an animal raising so much money for cancer charities should it's self suffer death from cancer. It actually touched a nerve with me as in the last couple of years we have lost two rescue dogs to cancer.
Best wishes - Brian

That's so sad that that lovely cat should die of cancer. I've just told my wife about this and she says she remembers seeing something about him on Facebook. I'm sure he will be missed. I am not a cat person but at my cancer centre there was always a local black and white cat in the main waiting room who just kept coming in no odds what the staff did so eventually they gave up. We cat sit for friends of ours and unfortunately their lovely male ginger cat died of cancer also - while we were there and on my wife's birthday - I am not a cat person but he was such a loving boy and we all miss him so much, (not at all like his fur sister a calico female cat who would bite or scratch you as soon as look at you and then expect you to let her sit on your lap! We are again looking after my wife's cousin's dog: Little Miss Sweep. A gorgeous, cute little black (with a little white) cavapoo. she is sweet natured and well behaved and makes me want another dog and we would have one - but she only gets on with humans and we couldn't give up our time with Little Miss Sweep. She is 8 now and in robust health but you can't help thinking about "when that time comes" which is why we decided not to have another dog we have both had dogs and my wife had cats and dogs all our lives. Maybe Little Miss Sweep will see me out as I am in my 82nd year - you never know. As i am in my 82nd year that means it must be nearly 10 years since my PCa diagnosis - time flys doesn't it?
