The big day dawned! We were both worrying that my husband’s genetic testing would have repercussions for our children and their children. No rogue genes detected! However due to the family history the advice is that our sons should have annual PSAs and our daughters should have annual mammograms. They are going to send letters to this effect for us to pass on.
the doubt is that because of this family history there could be a genetic fault, as yet not known about, that has caused this high incidence of breast and prostate cancer in his close family. They will keep his DNA and he is advised to touch base with them in 5 years. it’s taken about 9 months to get to this point but I’m glad we pursued it for peace of mind!
Yey - Well as you say peace of mind - Good advice all round for the children - one more box ticked on the journey.
Best wishes as ever
Brian.
