ADT and bodily hair

I'm 10 months into a 24-month course of ADT / hormone therapy and bodily hair loss has happened as expected. No biggie I suppose...

But in the last two weeks, the hair on my legs is noticeably coming back. I mean, really coming back.

Is this normal? Should I be concerned? Answers on a postcard please...

Thanks

Chris

  • Hi  , I guess someone has done some research on hair loss but I don’t know.  I didn’t have much hair on my body and since chemo and HT after 9 years it hasn’t grown back.  I have a full head of hair with virtually no loss at age 77.  It will be interesting to hear from some of the others who have stopped HT to see if their hair has reappeared.  If that is the case, then maybe your HT isn’t quite as good as it was.

    Best wishes, David

  • Hello Chris (

Interesting!  But don't forget I am on stop/start HT so my body is confused.

My leg hair has been unchanged. My chest and pubic hair was red, it's grown back black! My hair is grey and still is (and lots of it), My beard was red, it's now grey and red but shaving is interesting, When I am on HT it's hard to get a "proper shave" as my beard is soft - off HT it's fine.

I think I will write you a letter - it won't fit on a postcard!

    Kind regards - Brian.

  • Hi Chris

My beard stopped growing whilst I was on ADT and having chemo. Head hair fell out as well.

Thee months on my hair is coming back but very fine. My beard is also coming back but slowly, and it is also fine and difficult to get a good shave. My distinctive (white) moustache is but a shadow of its former self but I still have it ( which after fifty years of having one is a relief).

My chest hair has gone and my arm/leg hair is going slowly but the backs of my hands where I shaved during chemo ( to avoid the trauma of the adhesive at the point of having the canulla removed !!) is coming back and again is soft.

    Great fun isn’t it!!
