Godson

  • Hi Godson , my husband found regular walks helped his incontinence as well as the pelvic floor exercises  after his prostatectomy. He’s nearly 3 months post op and practically dry now.

Hope it gets better for you soon .

  • Hi Godson. I had my op 6 months ago yesterday. All I can say is be patient and keep positive. I was neither of these. I had no great improvement during the first 3.5 months (3 to 5 pads a day). Since then, over the past 2.5 months, I have seen what I consider to be vast improvements and am now down to 1 thin pad a day, even when exerting myself. Have no idea whether it was just natural progress or what I was doing trying to over come the problem. I have  just about given up caffiene and alcohol, since a week prior to op and walked daily when possible. I was doing pelvic exercises every hour but not seeing any real improvement. My SCN told me off saying it was far too many and 2 weeks after I had decreased to three timnes a day I started to see the real improvements. I now feel more positive that all will be good in due course and do not feel depressed about it. However, if it does not improve any more I also feel that I can put up with the leakage I suffer. Small price to pay for the privilage of being alive.

  • It varies by individual, I am 5 months post and still have significant issues. I have one friend who it has never resolved, 8 years post, one who did several months post.. We just get used to the problems and work around it and see it as an inconvenience. I am still hopeful it will resolve.Time will tell.

  • I forgot to say he has decaffeinated tea and coffee, no fizzy drinks or alcohol. I think that makes a difference too.

  • Ok bash. Thanks what  makes
