This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic.  It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.

It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.

I could have named it 'Waffle'.  Then I couldn't go off topic.

  • Gina, I can imagine you with a shotgun.  Sorry to hear about R again.  At least he had his "Play School".

I hope I won't have to go to one.  Nah!!!  I still have problems communicating face to face with anyone I don't know.

I hope you are keeping all of these posts for your autobiography!

  •   Gina, l am coming on to diary number 20 in the next week or so.

I am meaning to try to condense "my journey" on the PC.  Don't know if I ever will get around to it.  Hope so.

I just wish there was an easy way to find posts from years ago.

, Brian, is there such a way of doing this?

  • Morning Steve

Just stick your username into Search at the top of the page and it will bring up some results.  You can also view your posts on your home pages.

    Good luck - Brian

  • Hi Gina,

im glad you have had some “me” time and hopefully you will settle into a new routine of having quality time either yourself or with friends .

It is so important for you & Robert rather than sitting watching TV.  you can ask for a daily report so you know he’s settling in and gives you peace of mind .

it also good your medics are listening as many I have found don’t.

huge hugs to you both & keep in touch

    Liz & OH

  • ….and do t forget Gina - you have a nearby friend who loves a coffee , a natter and rears of laughter :)

  • Thanks Brian I will try to remember that.

  • As many of you know I do a bit of rowing to help with keeping fit.  The club has just purchased 10 single sculling boats and today was my first outing in one. OK, it had stabilisers fitted but was great fun and I hope to lose the stabilisers in a couple of weeks.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.

  • Great to see a fellow rower! I row a single scull a few times a week, it's great fun, and doesn't require coordination with a crew. It also helps when I'm feeling weak as I am in complete control of the pace.

Good luck with your single sculling!

  • Thanks G. I have been a fixed seat coastal rower for a very long time (Cornish Pilot Gigs, Welsh Longboats and St. Ayles' Skiffs) but only tried "fine" rowing for the first time last year. With this club I have rowed in eights, quads and doubles but today was a totally new experience. The new Glide boats are very stable with the outriggers fitted but I'm looking forward to trying to stay upright without them. It could be an exciting day!

I tried to upload a video but it disappeared, so was probably too big. I'll try again later.

  • Single sculls are significantly less stable than larger boats, but are a great way to improve your balance and skills. Bring a spare set of clothes when you first row without stabilisers Stuck out tongue winking eye.

Below is a picture I took while rowing a couple of weeks ago
