This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic.  It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.

It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.

I could have named it 'Waffle'.  Then I couldn't go off topic.

  • Safeways, just read your profile, it is lucky really you were tested when you were.

In my case, I was in hospital for Blood Clots on my lungs when the doctor looked at my charts and said I hadn't been tested for my Prostate.

Maggie's is really good, whenever I have an appointment I always pop in for a Coffee.

Also I attend their Monthly Prostate Cancer Support Group.  So many of us opening up to eachother, none of us have been on the same journey.  Learn something new all the time.

No Tattoos!  It's been 3 years now since I started my Radiotherapy, and the tattoos are gone now.

Hope everything goes smoothly for you.

This forum is like a big family.

  • Afternoon All

Well I hope everyone is well and safe and sound inside - my football match has been called off because of a waterlogged pitch (Rochdale V Oldham). The way it's raining now in Oldham I might have to start building an Ark.

Anyway I thought as it's horrible outside I would continue the list of 3 good things so here's 3 for you:

1 - Number 3 daughter has the keys to her first house - so me and Lorraine are soon to become "empty nesters". It will appear strange after having children around for the last 37 years.

2 - My eGFR blood test shows my Kidney Function to be 61 - back in the normal range from 8, 3 years ago - ta-ta CKD!!

3 - My HBA1C diabetic bloods is down to 46 - although it's above the normal range it's the lowest it's been for 14 years and that's with me being on HT too!!

As long as no one asks about my weight - life is good.

Have a great dry weekend everyone.  Best wishes - Brian.

  • Talking about weight... you know the hormone waistband that we all got... Well mine is actually going!!! WOO-HOO!!!

Plus I've lost about 9kg in the last year.  Not that I weigh myself much.

Down to 86kg now... just in time for Christmas!!!

  • Brian, we tried to go to Hexham Farmers' Market, had to turn back after about 10 minutes, roads were totally blocked by snow.  Obviously not gritted last night.  Conditions just a bit too dodgy, not worth risking it and having a crash is it?

Snow totally gone now, so much for Storm Bert.  Who comes up with these crazy names?

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • Hi Steve

We still have a little bit of snow - we are 550 foot above se level - roads fine this morning, but the rain - even the two Greyhounds didn't want to go out this morning!!

In answer to your question on storm names, here's how they are named and the names of the storms still to come!!

It's the apprentice nerd in me!!

At least by not going to the market you have saved money - there's always a can of something in the house when you have no fresh food!

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Not really, we stopped off at our local Dobbies Garden Centre, which is closing down next month.  They have a Waitrose in it, all the food has gone down to 50% off.

Well you just can't refuse offers like that.  Spent a fortune!

  • Brian, that storm naming thing is a bit hmm...

Why can't they just say there is a storm coming???

    Off my soapbox now!

  • Amazing Brian . Empty house won’t last as grandchildren will soon use up the “spare bed” .

just back yesterday from a well needed rest .

Cannot believe that OH slept from 11.45 till 8.45 ish . This is the first since diagnosis

lots of talking and decisions made that we won’t let PC control us . We intend to kick its A ….

just need to get the ED to become a memory for the time being and not  constantly upset him . I’m just glad here’s here but he doesn’t see it like that .

have a great weekend guys and girls xx

  • I know I was always waking up at stupid 'clock when everyone else should be asleep.  Men don't need beauty sleep do they???

So happy to hear he had a good night's sleep!

Does your OH have any libido?  Mine just came back at the start of the year, bit by bit.  That's all, just libido!  No hard facts! (Just soft ones).

When I had no libido I never thought of sex, so it never bothered me, thinking what I couldn't do!

Now, it still doesn't bother me.  I would like it to work!  But being in remission, if that's the price I must pay, so be it!

  • Hello Liz &OH (

It sounds like the holiday has done you both a world of good and you are back up to "fighting speed". Great news about the sleep. I am up 2/3 times a night for the toilet but I go back to sleep in 30 seconds!!

If OH is worried about ED he /(you) can have a word with your team or GP and he is entitled to a referral to the ED clinic and he will be entitled to help. I know some men are proud and don't want help and it's not his fault - it's the medication - but some don't see it that way. If you need any help - let me know (by private message if you wish).

    Best wishes - Brian.
