This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic.  It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.

It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.

I could have named it 'Waffle'.  Then I couldn't go off topic.

  • Liz, I read the article, it really moved me.

  • My mum had dementia. Before she went into a home my sister took her to our Gp. He asked my mum to take of her clothes so he could examine her chest. First of all she removed her coat, then a cardigan, then a jumper, then a blouse, then a full slip petticoat, then a vest and finally ….a t towel! My sister asked her why she had a t towel wrapped around her. I don’t recall the season but I don’t think it was particularly cold.  The reply - to keep her warm! My sister said that with each layer the dr became more bemused and how he kept a straight face when they got to the t towel was a mystery!

  • Thinking of you today Liz. I’ve got a few replies to catch up on which I’ll do later. Just wanted to send hugs and kind thoughts winging their way. Know you’re not alone.

  • Yes, and I’m thinking of you both, Liz. Hope all goes to planBlush

  • Good morning Liz &OH. Thinking of you.

  • Good morning WW. I love the story. I don't think feeling the cold is just related to dementia. I am sitting here with a short sleeved T shirt in 22C heat. Hubby has on a vest, shirt and jumper and has just gone for a fleece as he is feeling cold. We know all his bloods are OK, as is his thyroid but put it down to the hormone therapy and age. The one advantage is that he has less hot flushes in the winter.

  • Hi AH, How I envy your autumnal temperature! I hate the winter here, the dark, gloomy, damp days and feeling cold! We have just booked a cruise to, hopefully, sunnier climes next month. We hope to escape again in early 2025. We spend summers at home! 22degrees sounds just perfect! Enjoy!

  • Hello

I am saying nothing apart from here in Southern Turkey this afternoon we have clear blue sky, no wind and we can trump Greece with a 24CSunglasses.

Sadly after over a month here we are back to the grim Nort West on Tuesday.

Enjoy your cruise - like you I hate the cold.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi Liz and good luck today.  The RT will be fine just take it day by day, but I do understand the waiting is hard.  December will soon be here and then January and treatment over.  Personally I found RT a little draining but it doesn’t hurt in any way, so just try and get OH to relax.  As for feeling the cold (which I do) I  don’t know if it is age, chemo, HT or now ‘comfortable remnants’ - all I know is that the hot flushes come in handy some timesJoy. Hugs David

    Best wishes, David

  • Brian, Always hope,

Not jealous at all (grump, grump).  Make the most of the sun and warmth!

Grey sky, no sunshine here in Northumberland.
