HI, had left hemicolectomy March 2020 and have just been diagnosed with High Grade Prostate Cancer.
My options may be limited due to scar tissue from open bowel surgery.
Can anyone offer any advice?
Sorry to read about your situation Horsegg.
If surgery isn’t advised then you might be offered external beam radiotherapy or brachytherapy or a combination of the two. Hormone therapy alongside this seems likely given you are talking about high grade cancer. Do you have any stats e.g, Gleason score, staging, PSA?

Hi,
Stage T2CN0M0 (I'm guessing the last bit!) is a 'good' diagnosis, in that the disease is confined within the prostate.
I can understand that surgery may be difficult (not necessarily impossible), but radiotherapy is certainly still available.
Once they've finished the investigations - guessing again, you still have at least a bone scan to go? - then they'll discuss your options with you.

If I can't beat this, I'm going for the draw.
Meanwhile, my priority is to live while I have the option.
Hi Horsegg,
You must be gutted to find a second tumour of totally different origin and my heart goes out to you. The same thing happened to my best friend who had a small sarcoma in one parotid gland and two years later she developed lymphoma. The type of lymphoma was slow growing. They said she definitely did not have lymphoma first. It came later.
im no expert here and the gentleman in the group are looking after you with sound advice and to be honest a good few are more knowledgeable than most GPS or specialist nurses…! My husband is stage 4 with bone and lung mets and I don’t know what I would’ve done without the support of this group.
However, it’s just a thought but I wonder if it’s worth asking about immunotherapy or gene testing too because of your history. The medical profession are very good at focusing on their specialties but not thinking of the bigger picture. Is there a genetic predisposition or something that may warrant additional vigilance perhaps? Probably just a very sad coincidence and it does happen but prevention is better than cure after all
My husband is doing great on HT with his PSA going from 44.4 to 0.4 in just a couple of months! We are hopeful of many years together with the many treatments they have for PC even at Stage 4!!
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
