  • Hi Starkers

You don't give any info/stats so not sure if 177 is right for you. It is available but I think its normally used when other treatments have failed.

I think that its only available at certain centres but u should be able to find out online

  • I think Grundo is right, it is available at some centres, but I believe it is only licensed for advanced hormone resistant disease.

Might be worth asking if there's any trials going on if that isn't your situation.

If I can't beat this, I'm going for the draw.

Meanwhile, my priority is to live while I have the option.

  • Hi Steve.. i am on my second series of chemo ( previous in 2015 a year after Gleason 4+4.. lots of stuff since .. 2 series of external radiatiin, zytiga ( did not work) .. maybe go to Germany next time for La-177 as not available in Ireland. Royal Mardsen charge about 80/90k for 6 sessions and 3 scans.. hense opted for chemo again. ( i am fully paid into British social security)

Any ideas where it might be covered by NHS ?

Keep the faith! Thank you for replying

  • No trials just now... there was a large one re la-177 concluding that this treatment passed the acid test !

  • 80ish k seems like a lot for 6 sessions.

I would be contacting many hospitals see if any can help, realise u probably have done this but looking online may find something.

U could try cancerresearchuk and look under clinical trials, there r other options as well as 177
