I have been on hormone treatment for nearly three years now, with my last injection due in June. When I started HT I was warned that erections would become a thing of the past until several months after the last injection when my testosterone would begin to return.
Several months ago I woke up at about 1am with a small erection and a lot of pain in my penis. It was bent to one side, a sign of Peyronie's disease. Over the months the erections have become more frequent and now I sometimes get several a night. Luckily they are no longer painful and my penis has straightened out although it's at least an inch shorter than it used to be and is narrower at the base than the tip.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar and, if so, what was the outcome?
I haven't experienced it, but it isn't rare; the development of fibrous tissue is a direct result of the hormone treatment which stops 'normal' use of the penis and erections (Hence the saying 'use it or lose it'). The specialised 'spongey' tissue of the penis is partially replaced with fibrous tissue. Not everyone gets noticeable curvature, but some shortening is quite common after RT/HT (and after surgery, but that's for different reasons).
As I understand it, it isn't treatable, but rarely interferes with day to day life. If it does, then seek medical help.
